01

Verify appointment type configuration

Confirm appointment type, duration, and resource requirements are correctly configured in Scheduling Manager.

02

Check resource/provider availability rules

Review provider schedules, block times, and availability windows in the scheduling domain.

03

Validate slot availability and template

Confirm scheduling templates are active and slots are open for the affected date range.

04

Review patient eligibility linkage

Ensure the patient encounter is correctly linked to the outpatient visit type and insurance plan.

05

Check order/referral requirements

Confirm any required referral orders or pre-authorization are in place before scheduling.

06

Test scheduling workflow end-to-end

Walk through the full scheduling workflow in the test environment to reproduce and isolate the issue.

07

Document and communicate resolution

Log root cause and fix. Notify facility scheduling team and update ticket.

Root Cause

The scheduling template for Cardiology was accidentally set to expire on the wrong date during a routine template update. The template end date was set to the past.

Resolution

Extended the scheduling template end date to 12/31/2025. Regenerated slots for the affected 30-day period. Verified slots are now visible to schedulers.
